Hum and Strum Music school offers music lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced level. The lessons are for all age groups interested in learning music. It also has association with schools for training kids, children and adults. Our music class aims at helping a new learner to understand and practice the basics through real-time, one on one teaching mode.

Our faculty have been exposed to genres like Western classical, church music, rock, jazz, funk, mainstream pop and even film music. All of them are experienced performers and have individual strengths across the many facets of music education, performance, recording, production, management and touring.

The courses can take in students at very basic levels and then progress them to more advance concepts and techniques over three distinct levels of learning. To teach our internationally authored curriculum, we source faculty from some of the most famous music schools and conservatories around the world.

Piano/Keyboard :

As someone has beautifully said, “Life is like a piano. The white keys represent happiness and the black keys represent sadness. But we must remember as we go through life, that the black keys make music too”.

This course is a real favourite with our youngest ones, as it is never too early to start learning the piano. We begin with finger placement, introduction to sheet music, scales and rhythm and simple melodies. We follow Alfred’s lesson books for young learners as well as adults. 

If you are an absolute beginner, our lessons in the preparation section will help get you started. You will learn basic piano skills such as understanding the piano layout and basic music notation. After that, you will move on to learn piano chords, music theory, piano improvisation, and piano technique.

Advanced Keyboard Classes:

The objective of these courses is to learn different genres of music like Rock, Blues, Funk, etc., that enables a musician to use these skills both in sessions playing or on the stage. An understanding of these styles not only helps students in pursuing independent music but also commercial Bollywood and non Bollywood music.

We provide a progressive music education in all Pro level performance categories, such as vocals, guitar, piano, bass and drums. Your child will learn his/her instrument or voice in group lessons, play in ensembles as well as receive music theory and ear-training instruction. We emphasize learning through state-of-the-art and age-appropriate teaching techniques.

Learning the keyboard can have huge theoretical and physical benefits for the serious musician. Apart from a grounding in how music works, playing the keyboard also cultivates dexterity with the fingers that can be effectively transfered to playing any other instrument.
